Student applications open January 15 and close February 15. Final decisions will be made by Organizational Partners by March 15. Please keep in mind that Career Services continues to provide opportunities that may be of interest to students above and beyond our Organizational Partner opportunities. These added positions will not always adhere to the UChicago deadlines.
All students participating in any summer experience should register for the designated internship course.
International students should submit Curricular Practical Training (CPT) applications as soon as they accept an offer.
All graduate students participating in the Cooperative Education Internship Program will be required to enroll in a non-credit summer quarter field research course. Please work with your preceptor to ensure you are properly registered.
All students will register for MACS 95000, “Computation MA Internship,” for the duration of their internship. The course will appear on the transcript, and will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis, in consultation with the employer.
Additional Requirements for International Students
International students selected for these internships must receive employment authorization from the University's Office of International Affairs (OIA) before they begin working.

Note: Students can apply for social security numbers once they have the I-20 showing approved CPT. You can apply for your SSN up to 30 days before the CPT start date printed on your I-20. See the OIA’s social security page for more information and application instructions.
