Career Preparation and Programming Manager
5736 S. Woodlawn Avenue, Room 101
Gözde Erdeniz is the Career Preparation and Programming Manager for the MAPSS, Committee on International Relations and Computational Social Science programs. Several years into her doctoral studies in political science at Northwestern, she realized that she did not wish to pursue a career in academia, and had to go back to the drawing board to figure out her next steps. This experience pushed her to discover the wide range of career options that are available to social science graduate students. She decided to take her 5+ years of teaching and advising experience to career services, where she continues to work closely with students.
Gözde is passionate about helping students identify and pursue professional opportunities that are best suited to their specific interests and skills. To that end, she curates a weekly digest of career opportunities for each program and prepares job search resources, in addition to providing career advising by appointment and during drop-in hours. She also works on career-related programming, including the Career Mentor-in-Residence event series and the annual career conferences for our three programs. Don’t hesitate to stop by her office and introduce yourself, as she considers getting to know students to be one of the primary perks of her position.
