Frank P. Hixon Distinguished Service Professor
Professor Durlauf's current research focuses on the dynamics of inequality, with particular attention on intergenerational mobility, the social determinants of inequality, and the relationship between socioeconomic outcomes and meritocracy. Inequality dynamics are determined by the evolution of outcomes in a heterogeneous population and so computational methods are a natural way of enriching their study.
